Geoff Wright: Hon Fellow SSSI, and Founding Trustee of the ISAQ Bicentennial Education Foundation.

Geoff Wright was an outstanding person, a leader of his profession of surveying, whose selfless service throughout many years benefited his professional association, his industry, and countless many others. He was highly respected for his leadership, professional excellence, and service to the community and was awarded Honorary Fellow of the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute for his life-long dedication and exemplary service.
Geoff's Story
Geoff was born on 31 January 1956. He attended Goomeri State School, Kedron State School, and Wavell Heights State High School before beginning a Bachelor of Surveying at the University of Queensland in 1973.
He graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor of Surveying and began working with surveyors in and around Brisbane while completing his projects for the Surveyors Board of Queensland. He was registered and licensed by the Surveyors Board of Queensland in May 1981.
In 1982, he was awarded a Master of Urban and Regional Planning by the University of Queensland.
He was a Fellow of the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute, a member of the Royal Australian Planning Institute, and a member of Consulting Surveyors Australia.
Geoff worked tireless for the Institution of Surveyors Australia, Qld Division (ISAQ) serving from 1985 to 1990, convening a Legal and Land Policy Working Group and taking up the position of Secretary Treasurer. He was a Founder and Trustee of the ISAQ Bicentennial Education Foundation in 1988. He served on the Surveyors Board of Queensland for 4 years from 1988 to 1992. He represented the Board on the University of Queensland's Board of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning.

Geoff's legacy is an example of dedication and service to his profession, to education, sport, the community and to his family.
