Hons Year Research Bursary
This grant, offered to students to assist in the costs associated with their final year research projects, recognises and encourages the generation of useful knowledge and skills for the profession.
The Bursary
Three Honours Year Research Bursaries to the value of $1,000 each are awarded for the projects judged to be most worthy of support by the ISAQ BEF Advisory Committee.
Purpose
The purpose of the grants is to advance knowledge and education in the Surveying and Spatial Sciences sector through supporting students in their final year honours project. In particular, the bursaries are intended to support students in the honours project for:

the collection and/or acquisition of data;

travel and accommodation related to their project:

purchase of equipment or software during their project; and/or
-
other related honours project costs.
Criteria
The ISAQ BEF Advisory Committee (AC) assesses a shortlist of the students’ initial research proposals based on the criteria of:

Novelty
-
Expected outcomes of research:
-
Risks to success
-
Value to Surveying and Spatial Sciences sector
-
Student’s statement of need for support (simple and justifiable)
Timeline
First Semester:
-
Students submit a summary of their proposed research.
-
AC assess submissions
-
Benefit paid to up to three students in the second trimester of their project.
